EAST CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL ARENA

Tulsa, OK
SQUARE FOOTAGE: 50,500

BUDGET: $12M

YEAR COMPLETED: 2022

PROJECT STATEMENT:
East Central High School was originally built during the Cold War to double as a fallout shelter. With curved walls and few windows, the existing campus challenged the design team to create an arena complementing the existing structure while offering an engaging atmosphere for students and educators. Our design utilizes a steel structural skin with polycarbonate and insulated metal panels that provide ample natural daylighting. The new facility includes a 1,100-seat arena, concession stand, auxiliary gym, study room, conference room, athletic offices, sports medicine and training rooms, and locker rooms for three different athletic programs.
