Reed Architecture moves into renovated Sapulpa headquarters
Sparks Reed Architecture and Interiors has changed its name to Reed Architecture and Interiors. This reflects the April retirement of Gary Sparks, who cofounded Sparks Reed in 2011 with partners David Reed and Jill Selman. Having achieved their business goals in Sparks Reed's first 10 years, Sparks said he wanted to step down and devote more time to his family.
"I would rather not change the name," said principal David Reed. "I never wanted that spotlight, and I would rather still have Gary as a partner. But I respect his reasoning. I could not have asked for a better partner, mentor, or friend."
Reed Architecture and Interiors also has moved into its new Sapulpa headquarters. After spending two years in temporary offices due to Tulsa's 2017 tornado strike, in March the firm purchased a 5,000-square-foot downtown Sapulpa building for its new home. Having renovated the building, Reed Architecture entered its new home today. The company also added architect Jennifer Bradshaw to its bullpen last month, bringing its total staff to 10.
"Reed Architecture's team is adapting and progressing forward in this very difficult time for our country," said Reed. "We have endured many changes, from Gary's retirement to the purchase of a new office, renovating that building, dealing with the worldwide pandemic, adding team members, all of this while working from home through most of the last two months."

Despite that disruption and adjustment, Reed said his staff remained dedicated to maintaining project schedules for its clients. "I have been so impressed and proud of all the work our team was able to produce," said Reed. "We've had a lot of Zoom meetings, to be sure, but we've not slowed down our schedule for our clients, which is very good, as many of our school clients are moving projects up on the calendar as facilities are currently empty, allowing contractors to start before school is out."
