PUTNAM CITY WEST HIGH SCHOOL ARENA

Bethany, OK
SQUARE FOOTAGE: 50,500

BUDGET: $12.6M

YEAR COMPLETED: 2022

PROJECT STATEMENT: This arena attaches to the existing campus to provide a FEMA tornado shelter for the entire school population. The design takes advantage of the concrete seating bowl to create the tornado shelter lid over the areas required, accommodating 1,800 people. Using the locker rooms, sports training space, and circulation spaces under the bleachers provides a cost-efficient design that maximizes our bond dollars and meets FEMA requirements. The 1,200-seat arena includes a hospitality suite, concessions, premium individual seating on the arena floor, coaching offices, meeting rooms, and ticket sales. The design also offers a gallery space and main circulation area highlighting the school’s history and student accomplishments.
